In the modern world it is not common to carry a rifle on your person during the average day to day. However, many of us have a LTC (License To Carry, formerly know as a concealed carry permit) and we carry a handgun daily. Unfortunately almost every range out there will not let you work from your holster. This is a critical step that must be practiced. I recommend that everyone does dry fire practice with their EDC pistol, but that still isn’t the same as adding recoil to the mix.
We will be working from concealed carry for this training. The focus will be on real world application to defensive pistol techniques. You will be expected to either use an inside the waistband (IWB) or outside the waistband (OWB) holster combined with a cover garment. What you use is completely up to you, but I suggest using whatever you carry daily if you have your LTC. If you do not have a LTC that is fine, but you will still be expected to do the same drills. The cover garment can be any T-shirt, vest, over shirt, or BDU shirt/blouse etc.
If you do not have a LTC, or do not have a concealable holster/pistol, loaners will be available. The round count for this event will be 50 rounds for your handgun of choice. If you choose to use a loaner pistol, bring a 50 round box of 9mm. Please let us know if you will need a loaner prior to the event.
Normally the round count would be higher. But due to the current events going on and the current price/availability of ammo, we lowered the round count for this event. Just because the count is low does not mean the drills will be easy or worthy of dismissing. Join us to see why.
